How Long Does Micro Infusion Take to Work? The Real Results Timeline
Share
People ask me this more than almost anything else. How long until I actually see something.
For me, I have now used micro infusion consistently for eleven months, and I wrote a full account of that experience at the five month make as it happened. It is a longer read than most people need before deciding whether to start. What I think is more useful here is what actually happens in the short term, because that is the part that keeps people consistent long enough to build the kind of long-term result I have written about elsewhere.
So rather than just tell you my own timeline again, I want to show you what happened to ten women who trialled the Erra Skin device before it launched. Real photos, real feedback, four treatments each, spaced two weeks apart, over eight weeks.
What Happens After a Single Treatment
Before getting into the eight week data, it is worth answering the question almost everyone asks first: does anything happen after just one session?
Across every one of the ten women in the trial group, the answer was consistently yes, in a specific and limited way. The pattern was the same regardless of which session number it was. Within 24 hours, skin felt noticeably more hydrated. Several described a glow that had not been there before. Most noticed their skin felt smoother to the touch, and several specifically mentioned that makeup applied more evenly afterwards.
This is the immediate response. It is real, it is consistent, and it is also not the whole story. A single treatment delivers a hydration and glow effect that most people notice the next day. The deeper structural changes, the ones related to fine lines, texture, and pigmentation, take longer and require more than one session.
WHY THE IMMEDIATE EFFECT HAPPENS QUICKLY: The Peptide Infusion Complex serum is delivered directly into the skin through the micro-channels created during treatment. Hyaluronic acid in the formula draws and holds moisture immediately, which is why hydration and glow are the first things people notice when they wake up the next day.
What Happened Over Eight Weeks: The Trial Group Results
Ten women trialled the Erra Skin device before launch. Each one had four treatments, spaced two weeks apart, across an eight week period. I photographed each of them before their first treatment and again after their fourth.
Eight of the ten showed a clear, visible difference between their before and after photos. Two showed a more subtle change. I think that is worth saying plainly rather than rounding it up to everyone, because it is the honest result and it reflects what I would expect from any skin treatment: most people respond well, some respond more gradually.
I remember exactly what it felt like as I assessed the after photos and compared them to the befores. You can see the visible difference in skin health straight away. I was ecstatic. I had built this thing not knowing what the photos would actually show, and seeing it laid out in front of me, side by side, was the moment I knew this was real.
Here is what they actually said about their experience.

“I have used the Erra Skin micro infusion device over four sessions fortnightly, and one of the biggest advantages is how easy it is to use. After completing my sessions, I noticed a huge improvement in my skin’s hydration and texture. My skin used to feel like a dry prune, now it’s plumper, more radiant, and so much smoother. My nasolabial fold lines appear less deep, my fine lines have softened, and my overall complexion looks refined and glowy. Results appeared quickly, I saw visible improvements the next day after each session.”

“After my third treatment, I noticed my complexion looked brighter and my fine lines were visibly smoother. I love waking up to soft, smooth, and hydrated skin.”

“I don’t usually wear makeup, just moisturiser and sunscreen, and I’ve noticed my skin tone looks brighter and more even.”

“By the next day, my skin already felt more hydrated, and my skincare products were absorbing much better than usual. With continued use, the fine lines around my eye area appeared softer and less noticeable.”

“My skin felt amazing afterwards. The device is so easy to use, and my skin's texture is noticeably more refined and smooth. I've recieved so many compliments on how glowing my skin looks.”

“..The results have been amazing, I've noticed a significant reduction in fine lines around my eyes, and my skin feels so much healthier. The next day after treatment, the glowing feeling of hydrated and firm skin is amazing.”

Caroline, 43
“The treatment was quick, virtually painless, and left my skin feeling hydrated and plump. I woke up the next morning with fresh, glowing skin that looked smooth and radiant.”
The pattern across all ten reviews is consistent with what I documented in my own five month account. Hydration and glow appear fast, often within a day of the first treatment. Texture, fine lines, and tone improvements build with each session and become clearly visible by the third or fourth treatment, which for most people lands somewhere between six and eight weeks.
Why Results Vary Between People
Two of the ten trial participants had a more subtle visible change after four treatments. I want to be upfront about that rather than only showing the strongest results.
Skin response to any treatment, professional or at home, varies between individuals. Starting skin condition, age, and consistency of application all play a role. This is true of every skincare treatment, not just micro infusion. It is also why the instruction to stay consistent matters more than any single session.
What I would say to someone who tries this and does not see a dramatic change after four treatments: keep going. Eight of ten women in this trial group saw clear results by week eight. The two who did not see as much change had still reported the same hydration and glow benefits after each individual session, which suggests the deeper structural change may simply need more time for some skin types.
What My Five Month Post Was Actually Documenting
My five month post was never a record of how long it took to see results. It was a real-time account of consistent use, written as it happened, because I wanted to show what long-term commitment to this actually looks like, not just the point where results first appear. The changes I described by month three, the texture improvement, the reduced dullness, were well within the same kind of timeframe the trial group experienced here.
For me, month one was subtle. Month two showed early signs of change. Month three was the turning point where the dullness lifted and I started getting compliments. Months four and five were about the result becoming consistent and reliable rather than continuing to dramatically improve.
Both pieces of content are real and both are useful for different reasons. The eight week trial data answers how long it takes to start seeing results. My five month post answers what consistent long-term use looks and feels like once you are well past that initial window.
Why This Is Not a Six Week Course
Professional microneedling, the treatment micro infusion is inspired by, has decades of research and thousands of published studies behind it. The typical clinical protocol is 3 to 6 treatments, depending on your skin concern, at increments of 4 to 6 weeks apart. But that number reflects a course of treatment in a clinic setting, not how I think about using micro infusion at home.
I think about it more like a cleaner. You do not hire a cleaner for six sessions and then stop because your house is clean now. You book them every two weeks, indefinitely, because life keeps happening and the house keeps needing it. Skin works the same way. It does not stay in good condition because of something you did once. It stays in good condition because of something you keep doing.
That is how I use micro infusion, and it is how I built Erra Skin to be used. Not as a six week course with an end point. Every two weeks, for years, as a standing part of how I look after my skin.
I also think of it like tending to a lawn. If you want the best lawn on your street, what do you actually do? You could just water it every other day and it will look reasonably green. But if you want the kind of lawn your friend’s husband gets from his golf club membership, you aerate it, you fertilise it, you water it properly, and you do all of that consistently, not once. That is the difference between adequate and exceptional, and it has nothing to do with one extraordinary treatment and everything to do with showing up for it repeatedly.
Skin works the same way. Clinic treatments are expensive, and the everyday person simply cannot maintain that level of cost and commitment long term. At-home micro infusion is a fraction of the cost, which means the consistency is actually achievable. You can build it into your routine the way you would a lawn care schedule or a cleaning roster, not as a splurge but as a habit.
The cost makes that possible in a way clinic treatment never could. Professional microneedling at $300 a session is simply not something most people can do indefinitely. Even at the lower end of the clinical protocol, three sessions a year, you are looking at over $900 annually, and then you stop, because the course is finished. Micro infusion costs a fraction of that per session and there is no course to finish. You just keep going.
That is the whole philosophy behind Erra Skin. Not a treatment plan with an end date. A long-term habit, like exercise or cleaning or anything else that only works because you keep doing it.
What This Means for You
If you are starting micro infusion and wondering how long to wait before deciding whether it is working, here is the honest answer based on everything above.
Expect hydration and glow within 24 hours of your first treatment. That is the most consistent and immediate result across every person I have data on.
Expect to start noticing texture and fine line changes by your third treatment, roughly four to six weeks in if you are staying consistent every two weeks.
Give it the full eight weeks at minimum before making a judgement about whether it is working for your skin specifically. Most people in the trial group needed all four of their sessions to see the change clearly. Our 3 month kit is built around this exact principle. Six treatments across 90 days gives your skin the consistent stimulus the research and the trial results both point to, and it lines up with the 90 day results guarantee that comes with it.
And if twelve weeks in you are one of the people who needs longer, that does not mean it is not working. It means your skin is on its own timeline, and the data suggests that timeline still moves in the right direction with continued consistency.
